Austin Council of Catholic Women Meeting on Saturday, April 20

St. Catherine's will host the April meeting of the Austin Council of Catholic Women (ACCW) on Saturday, April 20. We will begin with Mass at 9:00 a.m., followed by a presentation by Fr. Lou in Siena Hall along with a very nice breakfast and a silent auction. All ladies of the parish are invited to attend. If you have not attended an ACCW meeting before, this is the perfect opportunity to see what it's all about!

VBS Planning Team Volunteers Needed!

We would LOVE to bring back St. Catherine's wonderful VBS this summer, but we'll need a strong Planning Team to do so! VBS would be June 3 - 7 for children entering grades 1 - 5. If we have enough planning team members commit to leading a preschool group, we can also welcome four and five-year-old children. This year's program will be Come to the Table: When You Eat with Jesus, Anything Can Happen! All planning team positions need to be filled by April 1 to give us time to get ready! Easter Masses at St. Catherine

Mass Times: Easter Vigil Mass, Saturday, March 30, 8:00 p.m.* Sunday Masses: 7:30 a.m., 9:30 a.m.*, 11:30 a.m., and 1:30 p.m. (* These Masses will be live-streamed.)

Holy Week at St. Catherine

As we prepare for Easter, there are many activities this week at St. Catherine. On Thursday, our Holy Thursday Mass will be celebrated at 7:30 p.m. On Good Friday, Family Stations of the Cross will be held at 10:00 a.m., the Stations of the Cross will be held at 3:00 p.m. in the Church. The Passion Service will take place at 7:30 p.m. On Holy Saturday, we will have the Blessing of the Easter food baskets at 9:30 a.m. in the Courtyard. We will have an Easter Egg Hunt at 10 a.m. on church grounds. The Easter Vigil Mass will be held at 8 p.m. The Parish Offices will be closed Thursday, March 28 through Monday, April 1.

Join us on the Friday Nights of Lent

Every Friday evening during Lent, the Knights of Columbus Council 8156 and the Ladies Auxiliary will serve a Lenten Meal from 5:30 - 6:30 p.m. in Johnson Hall. All meals will be family-friendly. Please come and enjoy the company of your fellow parishioners with a meal before the Stations of the Cross at 7:00 p.m. Mass will follow the Stations of the Cross.

Six-week Grief Support group to begin on January 17

All of us grieve in our own way, but often coming together to share our grief and accept the support of others, can facilitate our healing. If you have lost a loved one, you are invited to join a six-week grieving support group starting on Wed., January 17, 2024. We will meet from 10:30 a.m. - 12 p.m. Sessions will include a time to learn about grief, time to share your sorrow, and time to recognize and pray for healing. The group will be led by Lori Kruczek. Solemnity of Mary, the Holy Mother of God

On Monday, January 1, we celebrate the Solemnity of Mary, the Holy Mother of God. Mary is the model of holiness for us in her willingness to hear and obey God’s will. Mother Mary, please pray for us to be able to love our Lord with the same faithfulness that you demonstrated! Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m.

"Christmas in Siena" on Fri., December 15

Please join the Community of St. Catherine of Siena for our annual Christmas Celebration in Johnson Hall on Friday, December 15 at 6:30 p.m. Enjoy a Christmas Sing-a-long with St. Catherine's Orchestra and Singers, led by Eric Carreiro. Bring a finger food or dessert to share. We'll have a Wine Bar in the Café, bring your favorite wine to share. Everyone is invited! This is a free event, no RSVP is required.

Empathy in Every Step: Understanding Grief

Join us on Thursday, December 7, at 7:00 p.m. in the Cenacle for a special presentation by Alvin Santos, BSN, RN, who will explore profound topics, from beliefs about death and dying to the nuanced differences between sadness, grief, and depression. Engage with the Catholic perspective on loss and discover strategies to understand and navigate grief. Everyone one is welcome to attend.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Parish Offices will be closed Wed., Nov. 22 through Fri., Nov. 24. Daily Mass will be celebrated at 12 p.m. on Wednesday and Friday. We will have our Thanksgiving Mass on Thursday at 9:00 a.m. (There will be no Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament on these days.) Have a safe and blessed holiday.

Annual Holy Ween Party on Tuesday, October 31!

Attention all parents, preschoolers, toddlers, and infants! You’re invited to our much-anticipated Holy Ween Party on Tuesday, October 31, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. You and your little ones don't want to miss this celebration! Our dedicated preschool teachers have prepared an enchanting array of games and activities that promise a delightful experience for your little pumpkins. Costumes Encouraged!

Fall Jam on Saturday, November 11

We are hosting a party for singers, players, and music lovers of all ages! Fall Jam will be a ‘song circle’ where each singer or musician gets to ‘call a tune’ and have the others join in. Songs of any style or genre are fair game (as long as they are family-friendly) and musically anything can happen! The event is FREE and open to all! Come hang out and show our players and singers some love as they go ‘live without a net’!

Every Christmas we help children in need who live in our area. You may donate any amount you like or purchase $25 gift cards - Walmart, Target or Visa. We are also collecting gift cards, cash and checks for the following organizations: Carrying Hope, The Gabriel Project, Casa Marianella, Posada Esperanza, and St. Louise House. Labor Day - Offices Closed

ACTS Bake Sale this weekend!

St. Catherine’s ACTS Community will be selling delicious baked treats after all Masses in the Courtyard until sold out. Please stop by to support this ministry. All proceeds will go towards scholarships for future retreats.

Ministry Fair this Sunday!

It’s time for all of us to come together and join in the good work of the Gospel! Stop by the Ministry Fair in Johnson Hall on Sunday, August 20, from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. and learn what we as a community do to share our gifts with each other and the world, and discover how we can personally get involved. Coffee and Donuts will be available courtesy of the St. Vincent de Paul Society. See you there!
