The Advent season is a time of preparation that directs our hearts and minds to Christ’s second coming at the end of time and also to the anniversary of the Lord’s birth on Christmas. The final days of Advent, from December 17 to December 24, focus particularly on our preparation for the celebrations of the Nativity of our Lord (Christmas). We hope you will join us for the following opportunities to celebrate a hope-filled Advent at St. Catherine:
LA POSADA: Sunday, December 1 at 6:30 p.m. La Posada is a traditional Spanish religious festival that celebrates the journey that Mary and Joseph made from Nazareth to Bethlehem in search of a safe refuge (a Posada, an Inn or Shelter) where Mary gives birth to the baby Jesus. Traditional refreshments, hot chocolate, pan dulce, and cookies will be served after the Posada. Hosted by the ACTS Community, the Amigos Club, and the Knights of Columbus. Everyone is invited!
IMMACULATE CONCEPTION MASS: Monday, December 9
Mass will be celebrated at 12:00 p.m.
PARISH ADVENT PENANCE SERVICE: Tuesday, December 10 7:30 p.m. This service will include an opportunity for individual confessions with our own parish priests or with a visiting priest from the diocese. Click

CHRISTMAS IN SIENA: Friday, December 13 at 6:30 p.m. Please join the Communiity of St. Catherine for our annual Christmas Celebration in the Parish Center! Everyone is invited for an evening of music, merriment, good food and fun!

OUR LADY OF GUADALUPE MASS: Saturday, December 14 5:00 p.m.
Join us for the 5:00 p.m. Mass with a dramatization of the appearance of the Virgin Mary to St. Juan Diego. The evening will include Mariachis and after Mass we will have hot chocolate and cookies

THE TELLING OF THE CHRISTMAS STORY: Sunday, December 15 3:00 p.m. Everyone is invited to this tradition at St. Catherine. Children are encouraged to come dressed in simple costumes as angels, shepherds or kings to participate in the story of Jesus’ birth.
THE ADVENT 2019 DAILY REFLECTIONS, PRACTICES & PRAYERS BOOKLET will be available at the church doors. Spend 15 minutes a day during Advent spiritually preparing for Christmas.
