St. Catherine's volunteers have traveled to McAllen, Texas to help with the refugees arriving from Central America. This is an effort led by Catholic Charities of the Rio Grande Valley.
The center serves as a place of respite for the refugees. They receive food, a shower, fresh set of clothes and an opportunity to rest before the next leg of their journey. Our volunteers will be installing a washer/dryer in the center to help with the day-to-day needs. The volunteer weekend is Jan. 29th - 31st. We are seeking donations to pay for a licensed/bonded electrician and plumber and to purchase much needed backpacks.
