Our capital campaign, which completed last June, raised $3,200,000. Of this amount we will be given $1,600,000 to use for Church remodeling and repairs. To date we have completed the remodel of the Sacristy corridor and the main bathrooms at a cost of $401,478. The refurbishment of the Church pews is ongoing. We hope to complete this task by July at a cost of $130,000. The next repair adventure will be the replacement of the flat portion of the Church roof at a cost of $74,000 and the replacement of the Church HVAC system. We do not yet have a firm bid on the Church HVAC but we expect it to be approximately $400,000. As part of this replacement we will need to find a way to get some very large equipment into a very tight mechanical room. Unfortunately for us, when the Church was constructed the architect never envisioned how the HVAC equipment would be replaced down the road so they never installed large enough doors. At that time the original equipment was installed before the walls were built. We are contemplating building a platform on the roof above the mechanical room for the placement of the new equipment and have engaged a structural engineer to advise on this solution. As the cost of HVAC replacement is high, we will need to wait until money is in hand before we can start. Stay tuned for further updates.
