St. Catherine of Siena is participating in the Synod Project that is being introduced at the behest of Pope Francis. A Synod is an ancient practice of the Church to encourage people to talk to each other and consult about matters of importance to all. It is usually a gathering of Bishops and the Pope, but this time Pope Francis wants to hear from everyone within the greater Catholic Church.
Everyone is invited to join Fr. Pat and fellow Catholics for our first Listening Session on Sat., Feb. 12 in Siena Hall from 9:30 a.m. -12:30 p.m. We will talk about the Pope’s call for all of us to share our hopes, dreams and challenges for our Church. How is God speaking to us in our community? What do people living on the margins have to say to us? Please join us to talk and listen to each other.
Our second Listening Session will be held on Wed., Feb. 23, 6 - 9 p.m. in Johnson Hall with Bishop Joe Vasquez. All are invited to meet with the Bishop to share our views on matters of great importance.
