Feast of the Presentation of the Lord in the Temple

Candlemas Day will be celebrated  Saturday Feb. 2, the Feast of the Presentation of the Lord, at 9 AM Mass. This is the traditional day that the candles that are used in church and the ones you will use at home throughout the year are brought to the church to be blessed. We bless our candles this day to remind us of Simeon’s proclamation that Jesus will be a light to everyone in this world. There will be a blessing of the candles at the beginning of Mass. Please bring your candles and place them in front of the altar before Mass..
