Lots of parents have heard about and read the classic best seller, “How to Talk So Kids Will Listen and Listen So Kids Will Talk.” The book reads so easily and makes so much sense and most parents say, “Hey, I want to try this. How hard can it be?”
But then real life happens. One child hits the other or hits you, or they refuse to stop running in the HEB or they argue with you every single day about brushing their teeth or eating their vegetables or getting and staying in bed.
The smallest thing sets them off to a huge tantrum and the nice pictures and words in the “How to Talk” book are not what comes to mind. No, what comes to mind are the same threats and yelling that you had just made a promise you would never do again.
