Our Parish Lenten Penance Service will be held on Tuesday, March 7, at 7:30 p.m. Father Pat, Father Ray and Father Lou, along with other priests from the diocese will be available for individual
confessions. If you are unable to make our parish service, please visit austindiocese.org/lenten-penance-services to find other services in the Diocese.
Stations of the Cross | Fridays at 7:00 p.m., followed by Mass
Join us on the Friday Nights of Lent at 7:00 p.m. for Stations of the Cross. Mass follows immediately after the Stations for those who wish to remain. The parish also has Stations of the Cross outside on the grounds for you to walk and pray in private prayer.
Lenten Meals: On Friday evenings, February 24 to March 31, the Knights of Columbus and the Ladies Auxiliary will be serving a Lenten Meal in Johnson Hall from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. before Stations of the Cross at 7:00 p.m. and Mass at 7:30 p.m. The menu will vary each week and the meal will cost $5 to offset the increasing price of supplies. Please come and enjoy the company of our fellow parishioners with a meal before the Stations of the Cross at 7:00 p.m.
Lenten Meditation Booklets are available by the Church doors. Pick one up and use it daily to enrich your journey to Easter this year.
Fasting and Abstinence during Lent
On the Fridays of Lent, it is the obligation of practicing Catholics from age 14 onward to abstain from eating meat. Ash Wednesday and Good Friday are obligatory days of both fasting and abstinence. On days of fasting, Catholics between the ages of 18 and 59 are permitted to eat one full meal and two smaller meals that together are not equal to a full meal. On days of fasting, refrain from eating between the permitted meals.

Pick up your family’s CRS Rice Bowl from the table in the narthex beginning Ash Wednesday, February 22. You can return them during Holy Week.
Spring Bible Study: "Jesus: The Way, the Truth, and the Life" | Begins February 7
Join us for our current bible study, Jesus: The Way, the Truth, and the Life from Ascension Press. This 10-week study will be offered both online and in-person. Online sessions meet on Tuesdays, 7:00 – 8:00 p.m. beginning Feb. 7; In-person sessions meet on Wednesdays, 6:00 -7:00 p.m. beginning Feb. 8. Lenten Parish Book Study: "Our One Great Act of Fidelity" | Begins February 19
We invite everyone to participate in our parish book study this Lent. We will be reading Our One Great Act of Fidelity: Waiting for Christ in the Eucharist by Ron Rolheiser. Moving into the Eucharistic Revival, we will start by reading and reflecting on the meaning of the Eucharist for us. We encourage people to get together with friends. Lenten Retreat: “Healing and Forgiveness” | February 25
Presented by Carron Silva, PhD., author
9:00 a.m. - 12 p.m. in the Cenacle
Everyone is invited to this half-day retreat presented by Carron Silva, Ph.D. on Sat., Feb. 25, 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. Topics include how unforgiveness can rob us of a life of fulfillment; how compassion can lead to forgiveness; and how to incorporate forgiveness as a life skill. Cost is $30, which includes her book, “With You Always: A Journey with Jesus". Coffee and snacks will be provided. Registration is required, please register online by Feb. 24 at noon.
40 Days for Life | Saturday, March 11
From Ash Wednesday until Palm Sunday, we will unite with hundreds of cities across the country and world for a 40-day prayer vigil. If you would like to peacefully pray in front of an abortion-referral clinic in south Austin, please sign up at the table in the narthex after Mass on February 19 or sign up online at centraltexascoalition.com/signup. Our parish day to pray at the facility is Saturday, March 11.
