We need volunteers to help in our marriage preparation program. You will be instrumental in showing Christ's love and guiding our engaged couples and couples convalidating their marriage as they prepare for the Sacrament of Holy Matrimony. Training is available.
PREPARE Facilitators administer an online relationship assessment to help engaged couples identify their relationship strengths and understand the underlying dynamics that influence their communication. After the couple completes the online assessment, the facilitator meets with the couple to review the results and facilitate communication activities. An experienced PREPARE trainer will train facilitators. Time Commitment: Meet with 3 - 5 couples each year. Meeting duration is about 2 hours.
Sponsor couples are married couples working in a team to present the Together in God’s Love class in four consecutive sessions to engaged couples in a group format. You will present on one of the following topics based on information from Together in God’s Love Facilitator Guide and your personal experience. Topics include Faith, Communication, Sexuality, and Stewardship. Training will be provided. Time Commitment: 4 weekly 2 hour meetings, 1 - 2 times a year.
Certified NFP Promotors are couples married in the church who are currently using NFP and are interested in promoting NFP. Certified NFP Promotors will present an Introduction to NFP class to engaged couples. Certification is completed through the Diocese of Austin. Please submit an application at https://www.austindiocese.org/nfp-promoter-certification and inform the marriage coordinator at St. Catherine of Siena of your interest. Time Commitment: 2 hour classes 3 times a year.
Wedding coordinators direct wedding rehearsals and assist at the ceremony. If you love wedding details, St. Catherine's Wedding Coordinator Ministry needs you! Training will be provided, and you will assist experienced wedding coordinators before being assigned to a team. Time Commitment: Coordinate 2 - 3 weddings per year. This ministry requires attendance at the wedding rehearsal, 1.5 hours on a Friday (5:30 p.m. or 6:30 p.m.), and the wedding ceremony, 2 hours on a Saturday afternoon, at 2:00 p.m.
