Traditionally, Summer Challenge is a week of fun, faith formation and service for our middle school students. Teams come together to learn about our Catholic faith and the spirituality of service before being sent out around Austin to serve. This year, we have to be creative, we're not willing to let COVID-19 stop us! More than ever we need to help our young people learn to be part of the common good by putting others before themselves and give their time, talent and treasures. We are calling it the 2020 Summer Challenge CHALLENGE! It will take place the week of July 12. Click this article for more information on the program.
Black Ministry, Hispanic Ministry, and Social Concerns join Bishop Vásquez in the call to prayer for the healing of divisions. The multiracial makeup of communities protesting peacefully is an expression of the solidarity people feel; it expresses that no one can remain insensitive to the inequalities that continue to grip our society. Fr. James Misko will lead a prayer service to memorialize and pray for victims of violence, peace in our communities, and an end to racial injustice. This service will be live-streamed from Holy Cross Parish in Austin at June 9 at 6 p.m. Click this article for the link to the service and and the worship aid.
Parishioners have been receiving emails and text messages from me asking for money and gift cards. These messages are NOT from me! There is a nationwide scam going on targeting priests. Do not reply to these messages, send money or gift cards. I am sorry that you have been inconvenienced. Contact the Parish Office to report any texts or email.
