Everyone is invited to our Parish Potluck on in Johnson Hall after the 5:00 p.m. Mass on Saturday, October 29. We'll provide the burgers and beverages. Bring your favorite salad (fruit, pasta, greens, etc.), side dish (beans, veggies, mac & cheese, etc.), or dessert. Please RSVP at stcatherine-austin.org/parish-potluck by Friday, Oct. 28 at noon!
We are hosting a party for singers, players, and music lovers of all ages! Fall Jam will be a ‘song circle’ where each singer or musician gets to ‘call a tune’ and have the others join in. Songs of any style or genre are fair game (as long as they are family-friendly) and musically anything can happen! The event is FREE and open to all! Come hang out and show our players and singers some love as they go ‘live without a net’!
With great disappointment, the Afternoon Tea scheduled for Friday, October 21, has been cancelled. This is due to a low response. Clearly, fall is a busy time for everyone! Another Afternoon Tea is in the planning for the spring. Stay tuned!
St. Catherine is in need of liturgical ministers! We are looking for Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion, Ushers and Lectors. We are looking for liturgical ministers to serve at all Mass times but especially the 11:30 a.m., 1:15 p.m., and 5:00 p.m. Sunday Masses. If you are interested in serving in one or more of these ministries, please contact Katheryn Daniel, Liturgy Coordinator, at [email protected] or (512) 892-2420, ext. 335.
As the Church in the US starts off on our three year journey of rediscovering the central role of the Eucharist for Catholics, please join with friends, family members and groups to read "Becoming Eucharistic People," together or on your own. This book is available for $3 in the Adult Education Office. We invite everyone to start our study the week of Oct. 16. Together we can celebrate the Mass with new appreciation and understanding.
While the priests are at the Diocese of Austin Priest Fall Convocation, the following schedule will be in place: On Tuesday, October 11, we will not have Mass or Reconciliation. We will have a Eucharistic Service at Noon and 7:00 p.m. On Wednesday, October 12, we will have a Eucharistic Service at Noon.
On Oct. 9, 2022, parishes across the U.S. will observe the first annual Deacon Sunday. Today, we honor our deacons, Deacon Arthur Cavazos and Deacon Christopher Schroeder. Please take a moment to thank them for their gifts of service and charity, and affirm them for answering God’s call to serve the Church. We are so blessed to have them supporting our wonderful church community. God bless our deacons!
