We are excited to announce the Edge Middle School Program & Life Teen High School Programs are coming this fall! We are seeking Core Team members to help plan and implement this program. In May, our Ablaze high school students hosted a Bake Sale to benefit Fr. Ray’s mission in the Diocese of Kurnool, India. The funds they raised by selling muffins, cupcakes, and cookies were donated to one of the schools. The school was able to purchase 20 desks for the students who had been sitting on the rough floor of the school. Now the students and the teachers are very happy with their desks. Fr. Ray received some pictures of the school to share with our parish. Job well done!
On Sat., June 3, 2018, the parish community of St. Catherine of Siena honored graduating high school seniors at the 11:30 a.m. Mass. Fr. Lou Brusatti led a special blessing after Communion. Click here for more information and photos from the event.
All 2018 High School graduates are invited to a Graduation Mass on Sunday, June 3, at 11:30 a.m. Graduates should arrive in the Narthex at 11:00 a.m., wearing their cap and gown to line up for the procession of Mass. There will be reserved seating for the graduates and a special blessing after Communion. We look forward to celebrating this milestone with you! To participate, RSVP by Friday, May 25.
On Sunday, Feb 4, students will collect cash donations at the church door after all masses on Super Bowl Sunday. Donations will help the Central Texas Foodbank. (Click here to read more...)
Father Pat and the Parish honored the 2017 graduates from St. Catherine's Parish at the 11:30 Mass. This annual "baccalaureate" Mass recognizes the milestone that high school graduation is for the families and the graduates and brings with it the prayers of the St. Catherine's community. Just a reminder that there is Ablaze this Sunday. It was missing from the schedule I handed out at the beginning so I wanted to put in that correction.
This is a reminder about the bake sale this Sunday Jan. 15th which is providing baked good for donations to reduce the price for DCYC Jan. 27th-29th in Waco. Students or parish members interested in helping bake some goods like cookies, cupcakes or brownies for the 7:30am, 9:30am, 11:30am and 1:15 masses is extremely helpful and appreciated.
Confirmation Day is Monday Feb. 20th (President's Day) at 6:30 pm. Confirmation Rehearsal is Sunday Feb. 19th at 6:30 pm. Sponsors and students need to be there for the rehearsal to practice for the day of. Plan on arriving around 6 to start at 6:30.
Meeting for those volunteering for Ablaze, have an interest in volunteering or those that simply want to meet the new youth minister will be in room 205 upstairs in parish office from 12-4pm. Youth minister will stay the whole time but volunteers and parents can come whenever during time frame.
The blessing of the backpacks has changed from Tuesday August 16th to Friday August 19th. It will start at noon Mass with Fr. Pat blessing the backpacks. Students from pre-school to college are welcome to attend this blessing.
At the 12:15 Mass on June 1, the seniors from the area high schools and home school community, gathered to be honored in achieving their High School diploma. The parish prays for their future!
Diocesan Catholic Youth Conference in Waco, Texas on January 17th - 19th. 44 youth & adults joined 2500 youth from the Diocese of Austin in a weekend of praise, worship & celebration of faith!!
