Opportunities to Serve

St. Catherine's ACTS Sisters and Brothers, below you can find a list of all the upcoming opportunities we have to get involved and put the "S" in ACTS in action. If you have any questions or feedback, please contact ACTSCoreTeam@gmail.com.

During the Covid-19 pandemic, serving our neighbors has become more urgent and yet it is difficult because of the social distancing. Here are some suggestions from the ACTS core team:

•  Family Eldercare has a program for homebound elderly. It is called “Lifetime Connections Without Walls” and it involves signing up for sessions that interest you and you receive a phone call when the session is starting. They offer a wide range of activities from social activities to education classes, friendly conversation, peer support through telephone conference call. • Saint Louise House is a nonprofit organization dedicated to the success of women and their children moving from homelessness to healthy, independent lives. They have requested donations of $25.00 Old Navy gift cards for the children living in their shelter. You can purchase a gift card and mail the gift cards to: 

• Central Texas Food Bank: Donation of food items to the Food Bank, The items most needed are: canned tuna and chicken, peanut butter and jelly, spaghetti & sauce, beans and rice, canned veggies and fruit. Find more information at www.centraltexasfoodbank.org/get-involved

• Abiding Love Food Pantry: The Food Pantry at Abiding Love Lutheran Church, 7210 Brush Country Road, accepts donations of food, which may be dropped off outside of the main church building, Tuesday through Friday, 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. Find more information at www.abidinglove.org/connect/outreach/food-pantry.html

• The Gabriel Project: All donations for the Gabriel Project can be given to St. Catherine's Community Ministry Office. They may be left in the wicker basket in the narthex or you can call Rhonda Smith at (512) 892-2433 to set up an appointment to drop them off.  Gift Cards can be mailed to the the Community Ministries Office. The most needed baby items are:

                             Diapers - size 3, 4, 5 & 6 
                             Baby wipes
                             Clothing – 6 months & up to 24 months
                             Target or Walmart gift cards (used to buy larger items like strollers & pack n plays)
                             HEB gift cards
