Everyone is invited to La Posada beginning at 6:15 p.m., after the 5:00 p.m. Mass. All families are invited to attend the Posada, the Bethlehem walk with Mary and Joseph as they look for a room for baby Jesus to be born. This will be an outdoor event in the evening, so please dress accordingly and bring a flashlight if you have one.
Are you hoping for a less harried holiday? To have a more spiritual and intentional celebration, take some time to reflect both on what you are doing now during the season and then, how you wish the season would be ideally spent in your household.
This workshop based on the book Unplug the Christmas Machine, and helps answer the questions many of us have asked about Christmas as the season nears. Some of the questions are:
"How can I reduce the stress of preparing for Christmas?"
"How can I make our celebration more spiritual and less materialistic?"
"How can I help my children see that Christmas is more than just presents?"
"How can I get my husband to be more enthusiastic about Christmas?"
"How can I get my wife to relax and enjoy the celebration?"
Several people have asked about bringing kids. This workshop is designed for grown-ups, and will not interest children very much. If you need to bring them, I’ll have coloring pages and games available. If you want this to count towards the RE requirement to attend events, only one parent need be there.
