St. Catherine Respect Life Advocacy Groups inform and educate parishioners about life issues and the teachings of the Catholic Church in regard to those issues. We also provide an opportunity for parishioners to become actively involved in making their voices heard through peaceful and legal advocacy. Education and advocacy awareness encourages a respect for life from conception through natural death. Our advocacy is directed to issues affecting the most vulnerable in our society: children (preborn and born), the aged, the mentally ill, and the physically challenged. Our legislative efforts address abortion, capital punishment, stem-cell research, cloning and other social justice issues.
Our Mission at the parish level parallels that of the U.S. Bishops Pro-Life Activities Program. We closely follow the US Catholic Conference of Bishops and the Texas Conference to keep track of important legislation and in following the teachings of the Church.
We proclaim that human life is a precious gift from God; that each person who receives this gift has responsibilities toward God, self and others; and that society, through its laws and social institutions, must protect and nurture human life at every stage of its existence. - U.S. Catholic Bishops, Pastoral Plan for Pro-Life Activities, 11/01

Choose Life License Plates
Choose Life license plates promote adoption and parenting as compassionate choices and raise funds, at no cost to tax payers, to support the promotion of adoption. Many Catholic Charities agencies have long waiting lists of would-be parents hoping and praying for the opportunity to adopt a child. The funds created by these plates help to promote adoption as a loving option for a mother facing an unplanned pregnancy. Order your Choose Life License Plates through www.txcatholic.org.
