St. Catherine's is a very large parish, and sometimes we can feel lost in the crowd. We miss the intimacy of a smaller group of fellow parishioners.
Twice a year we sponsor Small Christian Communities, gatherings of 8-12 parishioners who come together to reflect on their faith: how God acts in our lives, how we act as Christians, and what God is trying to tell us. We use a common book to study, meet in each other's homes or restaurants for 6 weeks.
Season One begins in October and generally finishes before Thanksgiving, although each group sets its own schedule. We always approach Advent with a better understanding of the mystery of God!
Season Two coincides with Lent, a perfect time to set aside some time to think about God's saving actions.
ACTS participants also gather into Small Faith Sharing groups after their retreat. Some groups use the parish materials and some groups have different interests. Again, we are here to help everyone find good material.
Several groups continue to meet throughout the year as well. We are happy to help you find good material for reading and sharing.
